Since 48 years, the Sully et du Loiret Festival has offered a series of concerts to music lovers in June, thus launching the very flourishing season of classical music festivals in France. Since 2007, the Department of Loiret, in partnership with the City of Sully-sur-Loire, has been piloting and implementing the Festival in order to anchor it in the French musical landscape. This context of health crisis has only reinforced the importance of the place of culture in our lives and our impatience to be able to enjoy it again. In this very special year, the Sully et du Loiret Festival has chosen resilience and taken a new path that will be placed under the sign of reunion, sharing and loyalty.
More than ever, art and culture must be accessible to as many people as possible. This is why the Department of Loiret has approached the Lorenzo Padilla Foundation to propose a partnership to support the Festival. We have therefore with great pleasure chosen to share the Cuban culture so universal and generous during the event that will take place this year from September 2 to 5, 2021 in the city of Sully-sur-Loire for an edition full of diversity and discoveries.
The 2021 edition of the Festival will take place from September 2 to 5 and will include 6 concerts.
And it is on the occasion of the Grupo Compay Segundo concert which will take place on Friday September 3 at 8:30 p.m. in the courtyard of the Château de Sully sur Loire that we will have the privilege of accompanying the Loiret department with the exceptional presence of Lorenzo Padilla surrounded by some of the patients of the Adapt Loiret.
The imprint of Máximo Francisco Repilado Muñoz, nicknamed Compay Segundo, is still present on stages around the world thanks to Grupo Compay Segundo.
This group, composed of the musicians who accompanied them on his last triumphant planetary tour, perpetuates the legend of ChanChan throughout the world.
Nine exceptional musicians (including Compay Segundo's son) will make you vibrate to the sound of the most emblematic songs created by Compay Segundo, from the mythical Chan Chan to Macusa, via Sabroso and Anita and will take you directly to Cuba.
