The construction of the possible

The Lorenzo Padilla Foundation flew to Cuba on April 8, 2019 to carry out its various missions:

Logbook:

Week 1:

Preparation of the exhibition space dedicated to Lorenzo Padilla, guest of honor at the Havana Biennale, which was extended to Matanzas, the Athens of Cuba, the painter's birthplace.

Padilla has presented some of his works in the prestigious "Palacio de Justicia" completely renovated. A beautiful tribute was done to the prodigal son mantancero.

Week 2:

The foundation visited the young artists of Matanzas to discuss with them their work, their projects and their difficulties. All presented wonderful projects and works. We will follow and support their evolution.

The foundation and its committee selected three young talents:

The Photographer Claudia Padron Gomez

The designer Damián Castillo Figueroa

The painter Adrián Sancho

In the coming weeks we will come back to the projects that will be put in place to support his three talents who suffer from the lack of equipment and communications.

In addition to these meetings, we exchanged with the national and provincial cultural authorities of Cuba to continue our support missions for Matanzas.

Week 3:

The foundation supports the students of Matanzas School of Fine Arts so that they can continue their studies peacefully with professional equipment. A beautiful evening of this donation was held on April 23, 2019 in the presence of all the founding members of the Lorenzo Padilla Foundation, students and cultural authorities of the province.

Before concluding his stay, the foundation went to the Museo de Arte de Matanzas to diagnose the needs for expansion, conservation and influence of the collection of Lorenzo Padilla.

We also selected different artists in order to realize a collective exhibition in Europe.
